Epifanios Skiathitis – From Skopelos to Athens: The Greek Fashion Designer Behind a World of Elegance

Born and raised on the island of Skopelos, designer Epifanios Skiathitis stands today among the most respected names in Greek haute couture. Known for his sophisticated style and architectural approach to fashion, Epifanios has built a remarkable career that bridges the tranquility of island life with the creative energy of Athens.

His passion for design began in his childhood years on Skopelos — a place of natural harmony, vibrant colors, and authentic beauty. Surrounded by family and a close-knit island community, he developed a strong sense of aesthetics that would later define his work. At the age of 18, he left Skopelos to study at the prestigious Veloudakis Fashion School in Athens, where his exceptional talent quickly stood out. After completing his studies, he was invited to teach fashion design and pattern-making, mentoring young designers while perfecting his craft.

In 2005, he founded his own fashion label, Epifanios, and opened his atelier in Victoria Square, Athens. The studio has become a creative space where craftsmanship meets modern elegance. His collections include bridal couture, handmade evening gowns, and avant-garde prêt-à-porter pieces, all created with precision and passion. Each design showcases his fascination with structure, geometry, and form — a reflection of both his artistic background and his island heritage.

Epifanios has collaborated with numerous Greek and international artists and cultural institutions. In 2025, he designed the costumes for the theatrical production Murder on the Orient Express at the Schauspielhaus Salzburg in Austria, earning outstanding reviews and multiple sold-out performances. His artistic collaborations often combine fashion, architecture, and visual art, establishing him as one of the few Greek designers who blur the line between art and couture.

His creations have been featured in major fashion publications such as Beaute, Womantoc, and Athens Voice, while he has also dressed well-known Greek personalities. His work appeared in Greece’s Next Top Model, confirming his reputation as a leading name in contemporary Greek fashion.

Despite his success in Athens, Skopelos remains his emotional anchor. Epifanios frequently returns to the island for vacations, spending time with family and lifelong friends. He often mentions that the island’s light, sea breeze, and unspoiled landscapes inspire his creativity and help him reconnect with his roots. For him, Skopelos represents balance — the same harmony he seeks in every design he creates.
